1. Who we are

2. Overview

Pantry Local helps you keep a list of food items, expiry dates, reminders, a shopping list, and related tools (such as an optional barcode name lookup and a home-screen widget).

Core design:

• No account is required.
• There is no Pantry Local cloud backend that stores your pantry inventory for sync.
• Your inventory and settings are stored on your device.

The App may use the network for advertising (Google AdMob) and, if enabled in a given release, optional analytics or crash reporting (for example Firebase). Those services are provided by Google and are governed in part by Google’s policies.

3. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the App, it may store locally (for example with Room / DataStore):

• Item names, quantities, storage location, expiry dates, notes, barcode values you enter or scan
• “Need to buy” / shopping-list flags
• App settings (theme, language override, notification preferences, ad-related counters, remove-ads flag)
• Onboarding completion flags

This information stays on your device unless you export or share it (for example CSV export or sharing a shopping list via the Android share sheet or QR display).

We (the developer of Pantry Local) do not operate a server that receives your pantry item list for cloud sync in the MVP design.

4. Information collected or processed via third parties

4.1 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of the App may show ads using Google AdMob.

AdMob and related Google advertising services may collect or process information such as:

• Device and advertising identifiers
• IP address and general location derived by Google
• Device and app technical information
• Ad interaction data

This processing is used to show ads, measure performance, and combat fraud/abuse, according to Google’s policies.

You may be offered an in-app purchase to remove ads when that product is available. Purchasing remove-ads stops AdMob placements in the App on that device/install according to the App’s billing logic; it does not delete historical ad data already processed by Google.

4.2 Optional analytics and crash reporting

Some builds may enable Firebase Analytics and/or Firebase Crashlytics (Google). If enabled, these services may collect:

• App events (for example app open, feature usage events without your item names/notes)
• Device and app version information
• Crash logs and diagnostics

Product analytics intent: event payloads should not include pantry item names or free-text notes.

If a given release ships with analytics/crash reporting disabled (no-op), then those Firebase data collections do not occur from the App in that release. The Play Data safety form for that release should match the shipping configuration.

4.3 Google Play / billing

If you buy “Remove ads” or other Play products, purchase processing is handled by Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details.

5. Permissions

The App may request:

Denying a permission limits only the related feature.

6. What we do not do

• We do not require you to create an account to use the core pantry features.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your pantry item names or notes to build advertising profiles inside Pantry Local.
• We do not provide medical, nutritional, or food-safety certification. Always follow packaging labels and local food-safety guidance.

8. Retention and deletion

• On-device data: Remains until you delete items in the App, clear the App’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the App.
• No Pantry Local cloud inventory account: There is no developer-hosted pantry account to delete for the MVP local-first design.
• Ads / Google services: Retention by Google is governed by Google’s policies.
• Exports you create: Files you save or messages you send (CSV, shared text, QR content photographed by someone else) are outside the App once shared.

To remove local data: Settings → Apps → Pantry Local → Clear storage, or uninstall.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is a general household utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through third-party SDKs, contact info@pantrylocal.app.

10. International users

The App may be used in multiple countries (including Egypt and other MENA markets). Advertising and analytics providers may process data in other countries subject to their safeguards and policies.

11. Security

We aim to keep the App reasonably secure (for example using platform storage APIs and HTTPS for network calls made by Google SDKs). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

• Skip or disable notifications
• Deny camera permission and enter items manually
• Limit ads via Android / Google ad settings where available (for example reset advertising ID)
• Purchase remove-ads when offered
• Clear app data or uninstall

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes should also be reflected in the Play Store Data safety section when required. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
